Maimoona Mehmood and her husband, Syed Ali, have finally bought their first home, and you have to be happy for them and their three children. The Pakistani-born couple moved into their new two-bedroom unit in a Mississauga, Ontario, townhouse development in June, paying $279,000. They worked long and hard to save money, he as a dispatcher for a trucking firm and she earning $12.50 an hour at Pizza Pizza. And for the past six years, they made do with a $900-per-month basement apartment. “I looked at the ceiling a lot,” says Mehmood.

Famous Faces at Festival Tower, February 28, 2012

Always in stride with arts and culture, Daniels presented an exclusive exhibit of photography from the personal collection of celebrated photographer George Pimentel in a penthouse suite at Festival Tower. George Pimentel is renowned for taking black and white portraits of celebrities from the Oscars, Emmys and film festivals around the world. People flocked to see this exhibit that went beyond traditional “paparazzi” shots and captured their favourite celebrities’ intimate moments.

The Daniels Team Collecting Money for Second Harvest, February 16, 2012

On February 16th members of the Daniels team joined volunteers from across the city in subway stations and asked commuters to donate the equivalent of what they would usually spend on lunch to Second Harvest. The Quilters of Regent Park – February 2, 2012

Daniels has commissioned the Regent Park Women and Families Quilting Group to create an incredible quilt to be displayed in the lobby of Paintbox Condominiums, located within the Regent Park Community. These talented woman are creating a work combining the styles of Bengali nakshi katha story quilting with the Mennonite-style of quilting common in Canada that will tell the story of the revitalization of Regent Park.
